Morning of reminders / announcements

  • The Discord Bot is acting up, so please keep the challonge tournament page up on your browser of choice.  Without question, you will find your match ups there, even if the bot is acting buggy in Discord.
  • We have 45 people playing (Congratulations!) so we will be playing 6 rounds of Swiss to determine a winner.
  • The first round matches will be generated randomly by challonge. If at any time you don’t see your name in the brackets after the matches have been assigned – you have the bye.  If you see your name – the Purple Bar above your match is the link to your room/station.
  • These are Best of 3 games matches – 50 minute total for all 3 games – the player that wins the most games within the time limit is considered the winner of the match. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TIMING YOUR OWN MATCHES – PLEASE MAKE CERTAIN THAT AT LEAST ONE OF YOU IS TIMING YOUR MATCH.
  • Once time is called, the active player (playing turn 0) will finish their current turn and the game proceeds to a 5 turn extension.
  • Ties in Matches: After the additional 5 turns, we will try to determine a winner. To determine the winner, the player who has won the most games in the match wins. If both players have won the same number of games, then the player with the higher life total in the current game wins. If players have the same amount of wins and the same amount of life in the current game, then the game continues until one player has a higher life total than his or her opponent. In this case, the player with the higher life total wins. If players have the same amount of wins but have not started a new game, then they must play in a tiebreaker game. A tiebreaker game consists of 6 turns after which the player with the higher life total wins.  The player who lost the second game, chooses whether or not to go first. If both players have the same life total after 6 turns, then the game continues and concludes as outlined above.
  • After your match is finished, the loser of the match should report the result in the Earth X Origins General Channel of the CR GameRoom Discord Server.  PLEASE GIVE THE RESULT as WINS-LOSES-TIES (e.g. – “Joe Bloggs defeats Smedly McGillicuty 1-0-1”) in the General Earth X Channel on Discord.  This information will help us with seedings and standings.  If you end in a tie, please choose 1 player to provide this information.
  • VERY IMPORTANT: Before the start of round 1 – please take a few minutes and check your opponents team against the team they submitted via their Dice Coalition team link.  Check that they have the right Cards & Die Counts.  You are doing each other a favor, because everyone will have a chance to fix any errors on their teams to conform to the teams they’ve submitted to the tournament before the start of the first game.  But once the games begin, you will no longer be able to make corrections and will either have to forfeit games or lose cards/dice.
  • If during the course of play you need a Judge or a Ruling please tag us with @judge in the General Earth X Origins channel in Discord.  Do not pause the timer unless the judge requests you to do so.
  • If you’re having issues getting into your room/station or if your having other technical issues let us know in the General Earth X Origins channel and we will try to fly you in, or direct you to a suitable alternative.
  • IMPORTANT REMINDER – For this event, you must shake your bag and draw dice on camera.  Your opponent may request that you redraw if this is not done properly.  Also all dice must be rolled within the field of view of the camera as well (dice towers are encouraged).  Dice that roll outside of the field of view of the camera are to be considered like dice that have rolled off the table and should be rerolled.
  • We will have more information about the raffle at the 20 minute break between rounds 3 and 4.  But remember if you don’t drop out and continue to play in all your games throughout the day, (even if you don’t finish in the top 8), you’ll still be eligible to win the raffle for prizing equal to that of the 8th place finisher.
  • Finally, as a general statement thank you for participating in this historic Dice Masters event.  It’s a big day for online Dice Masters and a great day for the game.  Please have a great time and treat everyone with courtesy and love so that we can do something like this again in the future.
