By the Numbers

The dust and dice have finally settled in the One Big Weekend tournament and we saw plenty of action and a glimpse into the state of the present Modern format post rotation. Of course, there were the bans of The God Catcher, Yawning Portal Comfortable Inn, Asuka The Empress of Tomorrow, and two Becky Lynch cards Maiden Ireland and Straight Fire. Those cards usually shine in the new meta, but some of the stars of this tournament were the combo of Hope/Rachel/Nihiloor global that blew up fields. The emergence of an under the radar Logan Grimnar Overcrush team and Deadpool/Bizarro flip Overcrush team. And Dani Moonstar making a Top 4 appearance as well on the North American side of the tournament while Jubilee and Kitty Pryde made a splash as well and seemed to be very important pieces in being the KO target and the discount, respectively, in the Hope/Rachel teams.
I was only able to catch most of the North American bracket. Although I did catch some of the Euro side Top 4, I will have their by the numbers done soon (see here Euro OBW CCT numbers). I decided to break down the N.A. bracket “By the Numbers”. So, I took all the teams and broke down how many times we saw appearances of these cards on the teams in the NA bracket. Before that I would like to say congrats to all players, organizers, streamers, content creators, spectators, and the Dice Masters community for an amazing day! Congratulations to N.A. Top 4 in order. 1st place Ian / 2nd place Reg / 3rd place Elliot / 4th place CWalley.
